Heroes in Transition is a non-profit organization that we’ve been working with for the last four years. Their mission is to provide assistance to veterans and military families with special needs in four key areas:
- Home modifications for disabled veterans
- Transitional Support Group Therapy
- Financial support for service families
- Assistance dogs for veterans
We partner with them to offer fun activities specifically for the military veterans, couples and families they serve. From stand-up paddle board lessons to sunset excursions, kayak & paddle board nature tours and other customized events, these are some of our favorite trips of the season. We love getting the opportunity to meet these amazing individuals and their families, say “thank you for your service” and give them an opportunity to let loose, relax and enjoy some quality time with loved ones. Nicole and Kristen do such an amazing job with this organization and we are so thankful to be a part of it
We also participate in and sponsor the organization’s Ruck4HIT Cape Cod event. Where teams of 6-10 people wear a 15 pound ruck sack and do a relay run from Bourne to Provincetown and BACK over two days to raise money for military families. “We ruck for those who can’t” is in honor of the people we have lost while serving or those we have lost due to the mental and physical stress following their service. This year, the Ruck4HIT was able to raise over $200,000!

We encourage everyone to learn more about this fantastic organization. Whether you’re a veteran who could use some extra help right now or someone looking for a good cause to support, you can find out more at heroesintransition.org
